Join Town staff on Friday, December 13th, from 9-10 am, rain or shine, to observe the king tide from the Marina Village Flood Berm. King tides, the highest tides of the year, occur naturally when there is alignment of the gravitational pull between sun, moon, and Earth. When King Tides occur during floods or storms, water levels can rise higher and have the potential to cause great damage to the shoreline, as shown in the Corte Madera Shoreline Flood Explorer.
On December 13, the high tide is expected to be 6.70 feet at 9:30am. Come out to observe the king tide and learn about the recently completed Shoreline Adaptation Engagement Effort and next steps to protect this area from flooding. We hope to see you there!
